Inshallah, one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dream projects, has always grabbed attention. The film, in which Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan were supposed to be seen as the lead stars, faced a setback when it was shelved due to creative differences between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan. Now, new reports claim that the film is being revived with Shah Rukh Khan replacing Salman Khan.
As per a report by Deccan Chronicle, Bhansali has roped in Shah Rukh Khan for the lead role opposite Alia Bhatt. It was previously said that SRK was Bhansali’s original choice for the film. However, it should be noted that there is no confirmation on this yet. Neither Shah Rukh Khan nor Sanjay Leela Bhansali have reacted to these claims.
It was earlier reported that
Salman Khan had left the project due to creative differences. Production designer and celebrity interior designer Rupin Suchak exclusively had revealed to News18, “Fortunately or unfortunately, the film didn’t make it to floors because of a showdown that happened, and Salman walked away from the sets.”
“Salman and Bhansali didn’t want to do the film together. I spent a year pre-planning the set with Bhansali. We were in the USA for about three months scouting the location,” he told News18. There were also reports of Hrithik Roshan being roped in for the project, but nothing ever materialised.
Reportedly, Inshallah will be a mature love story featuring a young woman falling for an older man. The news of Shah Rukh Khan headlining the project also broke out back in 2024 when News18 exclusively reported, “While several reports state that Shah Rukh Khan has politely declined the film, it isn’t true.”
News18’s source said, “SRK has had multiple meetings with Bhansali for Inshallah and in all likelihood, he will be greenlighting the film. It’s a mature love story, something that goes with Shah Rukh’s personality. SRK has also expressed interest in the project, although he hasn’t made up his mind about being a part of it.”
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is busy shooting King and Alia Bhatt is filming Bhansali’s Love and War.
