Deepika Padukone On Return To Rom-Com Genre

In between the chat, the actress was asked about her return to the rom-com genre, as one of the fans asked, “When are we seeing you in a rom-com again?” Responding, Deepika said, “I really hope very, very soon. As you all know, it is also one of my most favourite genres as an audience and also as an actor.”

The actress had her own share of concerns about the feasibility of the project, though. In her words, “I just feel like the climate right now or the environment right now, I feel like the audience is seeking something else. But if so many of you want a rom-com, I am sure a large part of the public also wants that.”

Deepika recently made headlines after a rumour spread about her possible reunion with Ranbir Kapoor for Ayan Mukerji’s next film. The project is believed to be loosely adapted from Raj Kapoor and Nargis’ film, Chori Chori.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is currently eyeing the release of her next film, King. Besides King, Deepika also has director Atlee’s next sci-fi film, where she is set to share the screen space with Allu Arjun.
