Popular Odia singer Humane Sagar has passed away. He breathed his last on Monday, November 17, while undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneshwar. He was
36.
As per a medical bulletin issued by the hospital, Sagar was admitted there on Friday after he was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, acute on chronic liver failure (ACLF), multi-organ dysfunction syndrome and other complications. However, he passed away on Monday evening at 9:08 pm.
“Humane Sagar (36) did not respond to treatment in spite of all aggressive and advanced care provided by an expert team of specialist doctors and expired at 9.08 pm on November 17,” a part of the statement read.
Odisha CM Mourns Humane Sagar’s Death
Soon after the news of Sagar’s death was announced, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to mourn the loss. “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of renowned playback singer Humane Sagar. His demise is an irreparable loss to our music and cinema. I convey my condolences to the bereaved family and pray to God for the peace of the departed soul. Om Shanti,” he wrote.

Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik also paid his tributes to Humane Sagar and said, “Along with praying for the eternal peace of his immortal soul, I convey my condolences to the bereaved family members during this sorrowful time.”
Who Was Humane Sagar?
Humane Sagar was a renowned Indian playback singer known for his contributions to the Odia film industry. Born on November 25, 1990, in Titlagarh, Odisha, he gained prominence after winning the reality TV show “Voice of Odisha Season 2” in 2012. Over his decade-long career, he lent his voice to numerous hit songs in Odia films and albums. Some of his notable works include “Ishq Tu Hi Tu,” “Tu Mo Love Story,” “Gopa Hele Bhi Sato,” “Baby,” and “Agastya.” Renowned for his emotional and romantic singing style, he earned the title “Odisha’s Arijit Singh.”
