Delhi Police File Complaint Against British National Over Security Breach At IGI Airport

Delhi Police have registered a complaint in connection with the security breach case at the international Airport in New Delhi. The incident dates back to October 28, when a British National who came to Delhi from Bangkok fled the immigration area and escaped into the city.

Speaking to News18, a Delhi Police official said that they have formed several teams to investigate this British citizen.

“We are still working on it, gathering technical and human intelligence on him. Other agencies concerned have also been informed,” said the official.

The man was identified as Fitz Patrick, a British citizen (passport number 55819****), who arrived in Delhi by Air India flight AI 333.

“The passenger had his connecting flight to London, which was also an Air

India flight AI 117, scheduled for take-off at 2.10 PM that day. As we are aware, the passenger missed his flight as he reported late and therefore remained in the international to international passenger transfer area,” an official had earlier told News18.

It was only on October 29, the following day, that airline staff reported a missing passenger, prompting authorities at Delhi Airport to take notice. When officials attempted to trace him, it was discovered that around 7:30 AM, he had climbed over the arrival immigration e-visa counter and exited through arrival gate number four, an official told News18.

Further investigation revealed that the passenger was later seen heading towards the city side and boarding an Air India SATS staff ferry bus, officials added.

The passenger has not yet been arrested.
