How often do we count our blessings? Seldom, right? But a photograph shared on social media made people feel grateful for their privileges. A man residing in Bengaluru posted a picture of a little girl
sitting with a small display of Christmas decoration items for sale. What seemed ordinary at first sparked a conversation about privilege, education, and the difficult realities many people face in the country.
The image posted on X (formerly Twitter) was taken on Church Street, a popular spot in Bengaluru city. While the street buzzed with shoppers and vehicles, the photo captured a poignant moment on the footpath in the festive season. As he walked on the lane, the man chanced upon a young girl on one side. She was seen with her small shop, selling Christmas-related goods beside a pani puri seller. In her hands, she had a notebook, seemingly finishing her homework while trying to earn a livelihood.
Man Asks People To Be “Grateful For Your Education”
In the caption, the man wrote, “Saw a girl selling Christmas stuff in the church street while finishing her homework. Life’s tough, be grateful for your education.” The caption, coupled with the picture, tugged at the heartstrings of people online. Many praised the girl’s determination and resilience, noting that she continued her studies despite working. Others expressed their discomfort at the inequality the image highlighted.
