Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jul 1 (PTI) A senior sub-inspector posted at the Civil Lines police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Organisation on Wednesday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a man in exchange for filing a final report in a case against him, an official said.
Anti-Corruption Organisation Inspector Mukendra Kumar told PTI that Senior Sub-Inspector Parveen Kumar was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting the bribe at the Civil Lines police station.
The action followed a complaint by Om Prakash Singh, a resident of Kasoli village, who alleged that the officer had been demanding Rs 50,000 to file a final report in a cheating case registered against him.
Acting on the complaint,
the anti-corruption team laid a trap and arrested the accused while he was allegedly accepting the bribe, Kumar said. PTI COR KIS MNK MNK
