‘Grateful Beyond Words’: Mrunal Thakur Reacts To Dacoit Trailer Response, Shares BTS Pics

Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit trailer has been grabbing attention ever since its release. Fans and celebrities are pouring love on the trailer. Overwhelmed with the response, the actress recently took to social media to express her heartfelt gratitude to fans and also shared a series of behind-the-scenes (BTS) pictures from the sets.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Mrunal Thakur shared the BTS photos and wrote, “Grateful beyond words for all the love and appreciation you’ve shown for the Dacoit Trailer…. Ufff the countdown to the film release officially starts now.” Fans also immediately reacted. One of the fans wrote, “3 picture, love that saree look.” Another wrote, “Another blockbuster lined up..lots of love and best wishes M.”

Recently, the makers issued a statement revealing that the film, which was scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, will now be released on April 10. While this had saddened some fans, the new trailer has left him excited and hopeful. The trailer offers a gripping glimpse into the film’s intense world, setting high expectations among fans. At its core, Dacoit tells the story of a man who is wrongly convicted and imprisoned, only to return after his escape with revenge burning in his heart. His target is the woman who betrayed him — a betrayal that shattered his life and altered his fate forever.

At the Dacoit trailer launch, Adivi Sesh said that the film was first intended to arrive on March 19 to coincide with Ugadi (the Telugu New Year), which would have been ideal. However, he said they were not getting the kind of showcasing they wanted because of the strong presence of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2. He added that the team chose to wait until their distributors confirmed that April 10 would offer excellent showcasing.

“Originally, hum March 19th ko release karne wale the because of Ugadi (Telugu New Year). South versions ke liye it was very good, but kyunki humein theek tarah ka showcasing nahi mil raha tha, because of my friend Aditya (Dhar)’s phenomenal Dhurandhar 2, we thought of finding the right showcasing. When we were confident from our distributors that ki April 10 ke liye bohot hi amazing showcasing hai, with perfect screen times and theatre, only then we announced the date,” he said.

When questioned about whether Dhurandhar 2 might negatively impact Dacoit’s box office performance, Sesh rejected that concern. He remarked that Ranveer Singh’s film is likely to continue its successful theatrical run for another 3–4 months and said it deserves to do so, but believes there is room for every kind of cinema. “Dhurandhar 2 agle 3-4 mahine chalti rahegi. Aur chalni bhi chahiye. (It will continue for the next 3–4 months. And it should continue),” said Sesh.

He further praised Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 and comapred it to the Indian Premier League (IPL), describing the film as a phenomenon that shapes the broader culture and zeitgeist. At the same time, he said that the industry has space for diverse kinds of cinema and suggested that audiences who cannot secure tickets for Dhurandhar 2 should instead watch Dacoit.

“There’s room for different kinds of cinema. And main chahta hu jinko bhi Dhurandhar ki ticket na mile wo jaldi jaldi Dacoiti karne aajaye,” he said.
