Jos Buttler is on fire for Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals, which is taking place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, April 8. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batter from England walked out to bat at No. 3 for the Shubman Gill-led side and, at the end of six overs, was batting on 47 runs from just 22 balls. He has hammered three fours and five sixes so far.
The five maximums by Buttler, who has previously played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, have helped him enter his name in the history books by becoming the first non-West Indies batter to hit 600 sixes in T20s. Before Buttler, four cricketers had managed to slam 600 or more sixes in the 20-over format of the game, but all four of them
were from the West Indies.
The world record of hitting the most sixes in T20s is in the name of former West Indies captain and opener Chris Gayle. Gayle played 463 T20 matches for more than two dozen teams from 2005 to 2022 and slammed 1056 maximums. He is the only cricketer in the world to hit more than 1000 sixes in the 20-over format of the game.
