Virat Kohli stayed in fine touch in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, following up his opening-match century with a fluent 77 off 61 balls against Gujarat, an innings studded with 13 fours and a six.
He looked set
for a second consecutive ton, but left-arm spinner Vishal Jayswal cut that short with a dream delivery to get him out against the run of play. Although the match wasn’t streamed live, it was recorded by the BCCI, with other organisations also having their cameras at the ground in Bengaluru.
A video of the wicket has been uploaded on social media, and the quality of the ball was such that it has gone viral. Watch below how the ball dips on the right-hander to confuse him about the length, and then turns away to completely beat him, allowing an easy stumping for the wicketkeeper.
Just look at the bowler Vishal Jayswal’s celebration after taking the most priceless wicket of his career with a brilliant delivery. Full credit to him for dismissing Virat Kohli. 🔥 pic.twitter.com/KYZv0M81pO

Jayswal led Gujarat’s fightback with a career-best 4/42 from 10 overs, dismissing Kohli, Pant (70), Arpit Rana, and Nitish Rana. Eventually, Delhi went on to win by seven runs, but Jayswal made his name.
The 27-year-old represents Gujarat in domestic cricket and offers a left-arm spin option along with handy left-handed batting depth. Since making his professional debut in October 2022, Jayswal has featured in 11 first-class matches, 12 List A games, and 16 T20s.
His debut outing was a forgettable one — he neither bowled nor got off the mark, dismissed for a golden duck while batting at No. 9. However, his career since then has shown steady progress. Across formats, Jayswal has picked up 64 wickets, with the bulk of his success coming in red-ball cricket, where he has claimed 40 first-class scalps.
With the bat, Jayswal has proven he can contribute more than just cameos. He has registered both a century and a half-century in first-class cricket, underlining his all-round potential. In List A cricket too, he has demonstrated his batting ability with a fifty to his name, making him a useful lower-order option across formats.
