Indian Railways News: South Central Railway (SCR) has cancelled and diverted several train services following a landslide in the Mumbai Division of Central Railway that disrupted operations on the route.
According to SCR, the operational disruption has impacted several long-distance trains linking Mumbai with Hyderabad, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Porbandar and other cities, as reported by Financial Express. According to the SCR release, four key express services will remain cancelled until July 24. Additionally, several other trains have been rerouted to avoid the affected stretch.
The cancellations and diversions have been implemented to maintain safe operations as restoration work continues in the affected section of the Mumbai Division.
Passengers have been urged to verify the latest train schedules and running status before travelling.
Hyderabad-Mumbai, Chennai-Mumbai Trains Cancelled Till July 24
The following train services will remain cancelled until July 24:
- Train No 22731 Hyderabad-CST Mumbai Express
- Train No 22732 CST Mumbai-Hyderabad Express
- Train No 22157 CST Mumbai-Chennai Central Express
- Train No 22158 Chennai Central-CST Mumbai Express
The cancellations are likely to affect passengers travelling between Telangana, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu until services resume.
Several Long-Distance Trains Diverted
In addition to the cancellations, South Central Railway has rerouted several long-distance trains to avoid the affected stretch in the Mumbai Division. The diverted services include:
- Train No 22718 Secunderabad-Rajkot Express (July 21)
- Train No 20967 Secunderabad-Porbandar Express (July 22)
- Train No 20920 Ekta Nagar-Chennai Central Express (July 22)
- Train No 22101 LTT Mumbai-Madurai Express (July 22)
- Train No 22717 Rajkot-Secunderabad Express (July 22 and July 23)
- Train No 20968 Porbandar-Secunderabad Express (July 21)
- Train No 18520 LTT Mumbai-Visakhapatnam Express (July 21 to July 24)
- Train No 09419 Ahmedabad-Tiruchchirappalli Express (July 23)
Alternative Routes Announced
Based on the direction of travel, the affected trains have been rerouted via the following alternative routes:
- Daund-Manmad-Igatpuri-Kalyan
- Daund-Manmad-Jalgaon-Paldhi-Surat
- Surat-Paldhi-Manmad-Daund-Solapur
These diversions will remain in effect until services on the affected section are restored.
South Central Railway has requested passengers to check the latest train schedules and diversion details, on official railway enquiry platforms before travel.
