Mumbai Indians have traded bowling all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar to Lucknow Super Giants. Arjun moves to LSG at his existing fee of Rs 30 lakh.
Arjun was first picked by five-time champions MI during the
2021 IPL auction and made his IPL debut for the franchise in 2023. He played five matches for MI, took three wickets, and scored 13 runs at a strike-rate of 144.44.
“Thank you, Arjun, for being a valued member of the Mumbai Indians family. Everyone at MI wishes you the very best for the next chapter of your journey with Lucknow Super Giants. We are proud to have been a part of your development and look forward to seeing you continue to grow and get opportunities to make your mark,” MI said in an official statement on Saturday.
MI have also announced the return of leg-spinner Mayank Markande back to their roster after a successful trade from three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders.
Markande was picked by KKR at his base price of Rs 30 lakh at the mega auctions and will join MI at his existing fee.
Markande began his IPL career with MI, representing the franchise in 2018, 2019, and 2022, before turning out for Rajasthan Royals in 2021 and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2023 and 2024.
He has featured in 37 IPL matches, taking 37 wickets.
Markande becomes the third player to join MI in the current trade window after all-rounder Shardul Thakur and Sherfane Rutherford.
Thakur joined from LSG in an all-cash deal worth Rs 2 crore. He had gone unsold at the mega auction and later joined LSG midway through IPL 2025 as an injury replacement for left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan.
Thakur played 10 matches for LSG and took 13 wickets at an economy of 11.02. On the other hand, Rutherford represented Gujarat Titans earlier this year, scoring 291 runs at a strike-rate of 157.29.
MI qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs after finishing fourth on the points table. They defeated GT in the Eliminator before losing to Punjab Kings in the second qualifier.
