Kim Kardashian is not ready to hang up her legal dreams just yet. The reality TV star and entrepreneur revealed that she didn’t pass her latest California bar exam but instead of feeling defeated, she’s
using the setback as motivation to keep going. Over the last few years, the mother of four has been juggling her businesses, reality show, and law studies, all while trying to earn her license to practice law in California. Now, after coming close to passing, Kim is more determined than ever to make it happen.
Sharing her results on Instagram, Kim wrote, “Well… I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV. Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination.” The SKIMS founder also took a moment to thank her supporters, adding, “Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way so far. Falling short isn’t failure, it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam, and that only motivates me even more. Let’s Go!”
Kim’s law journey has been nothing short of eventful. After beginning her studies in 2019, she faced multiple challenges including failing the “baby bar” (California’s First-Year Law Students’ Exam) three times before finally passing it in 2021. The test is known to be tough, even for full-time students, and Kim’s persistence drew praise from fans who admired her dedication. Her decision to pursue law stems from her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who famously represented O.J. Simpson during his high-profile 1995 murder trial.
According to USA Today, bar exam pass rates remain low across the United States. Only 53.8% of test takers managed to clear the exam held in July and February 2024. For Kim, this was her first full bar attempt, taken in July 2025. She also shared earlier this year that she had finally completed her six-year law school program, celebrating with a post that read, “I finally graduated law school after six years!!!”
Even though she’s not officially a lawyer yet, Kim is already playing one on screen. In Hulu’s legal drama All’s Fair, she stars alongside Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, and Sarah Paulson as a glamorous divorce attorney who runs an all-female law firm in Los Angeles. The series, created by Ryan Murphy, premiered on November 4 and has been drawing attention for its mix of glitz, emotion, and high-stakes courtroom drama.
