This choice reportedly left her mother and stepfather, Brian Teefey, “shattered.”

An insider revealed that David and his wife, Debbie, were in tears when the Only Murders in the Building actress asked him, and the couple happily agreed. Surprisingly, the decision wasn’t sudden or last-minute; the source added that Selena made this choice early in the wedding planning process.

Selena made the decision as soon as they started planning the wedding.”

Interestingly, while insiders claimed that Mandy Teefey was upset by Selena Gomez’s choice of her grandfather to walk her down the aisle, her Instagram posts suggest otherwise. The singer’s mother appeared happy as she watched her father give Selena away.
