Oshiwara Firing Incident Under Investigation
The court granted police custody to enable further investigation into the firing incident that occurred on January 18 at Nalanda Society in Andheri’s Oshiwara area. During the incident, two bullets were recovered from the residential building—one from the second floor and another from the fourth floor. Police confirmed that one flat belongs to a writer-director, while the other is occupied by a model. No injuries were reported.
Forensic Findings Point Towards KRK’s Bungalow
Initially, the police struggled to trace the origin of the gunshots, as CCTV footage from the area failed to provide clear leads. However, a subsequent forensic examination indicated that the bullets may have been fired from a nearby bungalow allegedly owned by KRK. Following this development, teams from the Oshiwara police station and the Mumbai crime branch questioned the actor.
KRK Admits to Firing Shots, Calls It Accidental
According to police officials, KRK admitted during questioning that he had fired the rounds. He reportedly claimed that the firing was accidental and occurred while he was cleaning his licensed firearm. KRK further stated that he fired the weapon to check it, believing the bullets would land in a nearby mangrove area. However, he alleged that strong winds caused the bullets to travel further and strike the residential building.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and whether negligence was involved.
