Karisma Kapoor once had a fallout with Saroj Khan after the choreographer stopped her from allegedly abusing one of her dancers. In a recent interview, dancer Rubina Khan recalled the incident and claimed that Karisma lost her cool after one of the dancers fell on her during a song sequence shoot. Karisma, allegedly, yelled and abused the dancer, which left Saroj Khan disappointed. After Khan stopped the actress, she walked off the set.
“One time, Karisma Kapoor was shooting a song with Saroj Khan. In that song, there was a sequence where the actors had to run and stop at a particular spot. The set had a tree, and according to the sequence, some boys and girls were hiding on it. During the shot, one of the branches broke and a boy who was hiding there accidentally
fell on Karisma Kapoor. She got hurt,” Rubina told Bollywood Thikana, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
“Karisma became extremely angry. She started yelling and abusing him. She called him an idiot. This behaviour upset Saroj Khan because she was always very protective of her team. Saroj ji immediately intervened and told Karisma that she could not behave like that. The boy had not done it intentionally, and he had apologised too. But Karisma refused to continue shooting and walked out of the set, which was understandable. After that, Saroj Khan never worked with Karisma Kapoor again,” the dancer added.z
Saroj Khan choreographed over 2,000 songs across decades, leaving an unmatched legacy in Indian cinema. She passed away in July 2020.
On the other hand, Karisma Kapoor was last seen in the film Murder Mubarak. It is now streaming on Netflix. She was recently also seen as a judge on the reality show India’s Best Dancer 4.
