Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said that the team would definitely like to make a comeback to the Champions League, but given the situation that the team finds itself in, for the time being,
the team would like to win the Premier League and then look ahead.
Amorim is approaching a year in the Old Trafford hotseat and has yet to win consecutive Premier League matches.
United are currently placed 11th on the points table, behind Everton, with 10 points from seven matches.
“I think it is official that we want to go to Europe. We need to return to Europe, but we don’t know what is going to happen. So I don’t like to call success going to Europe in this club,” Amorim said while speaking to Sky Sports.
“Success in our club is to win the Premier League, nothing less.”

“This club’s success is to win the Premier League. What we have to be honest with our fans is that we aren’t in that moment. We need to be really clear on that. So I am not going to call success going to Europe or finishing in the first eight or six or whatever. That isn’t success here,” Amorim said.
“We need to give steps to success. Success in our club is to win the Premier League, nothing less,” Amorim added.
Pulling that off against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, October 19, would mark a big step forward and Amorim knows the pressure will remain intense until results turn around.
United finished 15th in last season’s Premier League, their lowest in 51 years and missed an opportunity to qualify for the Champions League after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham.
