Singer Diljit Dosanjh’s October 30 concert at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will take place as planned after Delhi Police reconsidered its earlier decision and granted permission following discussions with event organiser BookMyShow Live. The clearance came after police initially withheld approval, citing security concerns and law-and-order commitments during the festive season. Soon after the development, Diljit shared a video on social media, humorously reacting to the buzz surrounding his Delhi concert. In his signature playful style, the singer urged fans to put the speculation and online debates behind them and meet him at the show on October 30.
Diljit Dosanjh takes a playful dig at debate around his Delhi concert
In the Instagram video,
Diljit Dosanjh appeared to take a playful dig at the ongoing speculation and television debates surrounding his Delhi concert. He wondered whether the discussions had finally ended before assuring fans that he would see them in the capital on October 30. He said, “Main ye bol raha tha ki ban gayi reels, ban gaye tweets, ho gayi aapki newsroom ki debates. Ab milte hain 30 tareekh ko Delhi mein. Pehle news pata kar liya karo, kacha dhuan maare jaa rahe ho. Kacha dhuan maarne se achha hai pehle baat pata kar liya karein (I was saying that reels have been made, tweets have been posted, and newsroom debates have already begun. Now, see you in Delhi on the 30th. Find out the facts first before jumping to conclusions. You’re making a lot of noise without knowing the full story. It’s better to get your facts straight before).”
He also called out the tendency to jump into debates without getting the full picture, suggesting that many were quicker to weigh in on the controversy than to understand the facts behind it. The singer continued, “Aivai debate par debate kare jaa rahe hain, tweet par tweet kare jaa rahe hain. Bahut badhiya din hai, toh socha live aa jaayein. Baat bhi karni thi bahut saari. Reels ho rahi thi, tweets ho rahe the, newsroom ki debates chal rahi thi (They keep having one debate after another and posting tweet after tweet. It’s such a lovely day, so I thought I’d come live. There was a lot I wanted to talk about, too. Reels were being made, tweets were being posted, and newsroom debates were underway).”
Delhi Police initially denied permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s October 30 concert, citing specific threat-related inputs, festive-season security commitments and law-and-order concerns. However, the authorities later cleared the event after organisers BookMyShow Live agreed to comply with the stipulated conditions, including requirements for private security and crowd management.
Meanwhile, after the Delhi concert, Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour will move to Indore on November 15, followed by Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29 and Lucknow on December 5. A Chandigarh show has also been announced, but its date and further details are yet to be revealed.
