Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich registered a resounding 5-1 win at Pafos FC in their UEFA Champions Legaue 2025/26 group stage encounter on Wednesday, as Real Madrid also coasted to a 5-0 win over Kairat Almaty.
Harry Kane netted a brace as Raphael Gurrero, Nicolas Jackson and Michael OIise added one each for Bayern, while Kylian Mbappe’s treble and strikes from Eduardo Camavinga Brahim Diaz helped Madrid to a massive triumph.
Kane opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Gurreiro doubled the Bavarian’s lead five minutes later. The goals kept coming as Jakson netted his side’s thirf in the 31st minute. Kane netted three minutes later to end the game as a contest in the first perifo od play.
Miroslav Orsic grabbed a consolation before the
break, but Olise’s strike in the second period of the game made it 5-1 to Vincent Kompany and Co.
The 15-time European champions, Real Madrid, traveled nearly 4,000 miles to play in the eastern Kazakh city of Almaty for Kairat’s first home match in the competition.
Mbappe converted a penalty in the 25th minute after goalkeeper Sherkhan Kalmurza brought down Franco Mastantuono. He scored his second goal after the break when goalkeeper Thibault Courtois outwitted the Kairat defense with a long clearance, allowing Mbappe to lob the ball over Kalmurza.
Arda Güler set up Mbappe for his third goal in the 73rd minute, marking the French star’s fourth hat-trick in the competition. Only Robert Lewandowski (6) and Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi (8) have more.
Substitute Eduardo Camavinga scored his first-ever goal in the competition 10 minutes later, and fellow substitute Brahim Díaz completed the scoring in stoppage time.
