Even months after its theatrical release, Dhurandhar continues to dominate conversations, especially after its successful OTT run. One of the film’s biggest highlights, the high-energy dance number Shararat, featuring Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza, has emerged as a full-blown chartbuster. Now, Ayesha has revealed a behind-the-scenes detail that has left the internet stunned — she shot the demanding song while she was on her period.
What Ayesha Khan said
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Ayesha opened up about the physically and emotionally taxing shoot. “It was two days of shoot. It was so hectic, I was on my period during the shoot, and you know you’re not looking your best because you’re bloated and you’re not at your best. Kaash, I was at my best. It was so much
of work for two days… We were running short on time. We were so tired, our bones were aching after dancing so much. I was feeling so overwhelmed, and it was also because I was on my period, so maybe my emotions were hitting me too much. So, I just couldn’t control and I just cried. It was Khushi ke aansu (tears of joy).”
Internet reacts with praise
Ayesha’s revelation quickly sparked admiration online, with many praising her dedication and grit. One user commented, “Omg, how did you dance and do the difficult steps during your period! Hat’s off to her!” Another wrote, “Periods, no way! U owned the show! Period!” A fan added, “Periods me in this energy dance! Hats off to your dedication.” Several others echoed similar sentiments, applauding her performance and professionalism.
About the song Shararat
Set against the backdrop of a lavish Karachi wedding in Dhurandhar, Shararat features Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza as wedding dancers, lighting up the screen with their energy. The track is composed by Shashwat Sachdev, sung by Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas, and choreographed by Vijay Ganguly. The song has already crossed 200 million views on YouTube, cementing its status as one of the film’s most popular numbers.
Earlier, when Shararat hit the 100-million mark, Ayesha had shared an emotional note expressing gratitude and confidence in her journey. “I promise my audience I am here to rule, and nothing can stop me, and this doesn’t come out of arrogance, but purely out of the hard work I put into things I love… Cause what is AYESHA KHAN without a little bit of drama?” she wrote.
