Samson was absolutely on fire as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday night. The Kerala wicketkeeper-batter not only became the first CSK batter to score a hundred against MI in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but also became the second batter, after Shane Watson, to score two hundreds in a season for the Yellow Army.
Shane Watson struck two centuries for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2018. He first smashed 106 off 57 against Rajasthan Royals in Pune, before producing a memorable 117* off 57 in the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Samson also became the fifth Indian batter to score multiple hundreds in the same IPL season.
