Etah (UP), May 30 (PTI) A fire broke out at a firecracker factory in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, leaving four labourers critically injured, police said.
The cause of the fire, which broke out at the factory situated in a forest near Nagla Patiya in the Soron police station area, was not known immediately.
After receiving information about the fire, teams of the local administration, police, and fire brigade rushed to the spot and launched rescue and relief operations, police said.
The fire brigade team successfully brought the blaze under control. Police have been deployed at the spot and the entire area is currently under surveillance, they said.
The factory is owned by Ramesh. The injured have been identified as Rehan (19),
Monu (21), Sunil (18) and Ajay (22), all residents of Nagla Patiya, police said.
The injured were rushed to a private hospital. However, due to their critical condition, they were subsequently referred to Aligarh for further medical treatment, they said.
Superintendent of Police, Kasganj, O P Singh, said an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
