Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal recently attended the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2026 event, and during the event, Bhatt recalled a tragic incident. Alia Bhatt, who was visibly emotional at the event, shared a heartbreaking story where she lost her nanny in a road accident and spoke about how she wears a seat belt even if she is seated in the back.
Alia Bhatt, while recalling the emotional incident from her childhood, revealed that she was just 12 when her nanny passed away in a road accident, and it left a void in the family’s heart. Alia said, “When I was 12 years old, there was a lady who was very close to me. You can call her my nanny, but she was like a sister to me. Her name was Sharda. We lost her after a very tragic accident on the road.
She was going for a temple visit with her partner. While her partner was wearing a helmet, she was not. They hit a truck, and she was pronounced dead on the spot.”
Speaking about how that incident left the entire family anxious, Alia revealed, “After that, there was this anxiety in the home that this can happen to anyone, anytime. My mother was anxious for me. She warned the driver that she would fire him if he drove without me wearing a seat belt in the back seat. But I wore the seat belt because somebody was telling me to. Now, after becoming a mother, my perspective has changed. I understand the responsibility of being safe and secure for my child.”
What’s next for Alia Bhatt
On the work front, Alia has a packed slate ahead. She will be seen in a fierce, action-led avatar in Alpha, which also stars Sharvari and Bobby Deol. She is also collaborating with her Gangubai Kathiawadi director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Love & War. The movie also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. As per recent updates, the SLB project is currently in production and slated for a 2026 release.
