Karthik Ghattamaneni’s fantasy action drama, Mirai, has captivated audiences with its mythological fantasy elements and thrilling action sequences. The film, starring Teja Sajja in the lead, has shown consistent box office performance since its release. But on its seventh day, the film saw a significant drop in collections.
As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, the fantasy action drama earned only Rs 80 lakh at the box office on Thursday, September 18.
Mirai (Hindi) Day 7 Box Office Collection
The film opened with Rs 1.65 crore on its Hindi screening, followed by Rs 3 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.05 crore on Sunday, closing the opening weekend with an impressive Rs 7.07 crore collection. Despite its impressive performance during the weekends, Mirai
experienced a dip on Monday and earned Rs 1.15 crore.
But, it bounced back at the box office on Tuesday with Rs 1.65 crore and again declined on Wednesday, collecting Rs 1.05 crore. As per early estimates on day 7, it earned 3.35 crore across all languages, leading its 7-day box office collection to around Rs 65.10.
Mirai Occupancy
On Day 7, the Hindi version of Mirai recorded an average occupancy of 8.81 per cent. The morning shows started at 5.01 per cent, while the afternoon shows saw the occupancy rate rise to 9.25 per cent. On the evening of day 7, Mirai Hindi shows reached an occupancy rate of 9.33, whereas the night show peaked, witnessing an impressive 11.66 per cent occupancy rate. Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad and Surat were some of the main regions that contributed significantly to the film’s Hindi occupancy.
Teja Sajja’s Fantasy Adventure Film Mirai’s Plot
Billed as one of the biggest mythological fantasy films of the year, Mirai follows a divine quest rooted in the Treta Yuga. Teja Sajja’s character try to find the mystical staff ‘Mirai’ linked to Lord Rama’s journey. The film mixes ancient mythology with a modern superhero narrative, offering a fresh cinematic experience packed with stunning visuals and gravity-defying action sequences.
Mirai’s Cast and Upcoming Clash
Besides Teja Sajja, the film also marks Manchu Manoj’s much-awaited return as the antagonist Black Sword, a powerful villain in pursuit of nine sacred books that could grant him invincibility. The fantasy drama also features a strong ensemble cast, including Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, Rajendranath Zutshi, Pawan Chopra and Tanja Keller.
Distributed in Hindi by Dharma Productions, Mirai is available in 2D and 3D formats across eight languages, further establishing its appeal as a pan-India spectacle.
The film is now set to face box office competition from Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s Jolly LLB 3 and Anurag Kashyap’s Nishaachi, making the coming weeks crucial.
