Jailer 2: Hrithik Roshan To Replace Shah Rukh Khan In Rajinikanth Starrer? Here’s What Report Says

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is already carrying massive expectations, and the latest buzz around the film has only added to the excitement. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial is said to feature several actors from different film industries in special cameo appearances. Earlier, there were reports claiming that Shah Rukh Khan might also be seen in the film. However, a new report suggests that SRK may no longer be a part of the Rajinikanth starrer.

According to Hindustan Times, Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly opted out of Jailer 2 due to his commitment to his upcoming film King. The report further states that Hrithik Roshan has now come on board for the role.

A source told the portal, “Hrithik is definitely doing a strong cameo in Jailer 2. He plays the role

of Rajini sir’s friend who comes into the storyline to help in times of crisis. Hrithik will be shooting his part this month.”

If the report is true, Jailer 2 will mark a special reunion between Rajinikanth and Hrithik Roshan after nearly four decades. The two had previously worked together in Bhagwaan Dada, which featured Hrithik as a child actor.

Hrithik is not the only big name being linked to the film. Reports suggest that Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Vinayakan and Vijay Sethupathi may also be seen in cameo appearances in Jailer 2.

Jailer 2 Reshoot

Meanwhile, the same report claims that although a major chunk of Jailer 2 has already been shot, director Nelson Dilipkumar is planning to reshoot certain portions of the film. A source shared, “Some actors have been asked to come back and reshoot the scene. When the team saw the film, they were not happy with certain portions.”

Jailer 2 Cast And Release Date

Apart from Rajinikanth, Jailer 2 also features S. J. Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and others in important roles. Reports have also claimed that Vidya Balan will be seen playing a pivotal part in the film.

The makers are yet to announce the official release date of Jailer 2. However, reports suggest that the film may arrive in theatres in August this year. The announcement video, which was unveiled in January 2025, had already created massive buzz among fans. All eyes are now on the makers for the film’s official release date announcement.
