Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan finally made his much-anticipated directorial debut with Netflix’s The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, which premiered on September 18. The grand screening held in Mumbai was a star-studded affair, attended by several big names from the industry. Among them were Madhuri Dixit and her husband, Dr Shriram Nene, who not only walked the red carpet but also shared their review after watching the show.
Taking to X, Dr Nene reshared a video of himself and Madhuri posing for photographers at the event. Along with it, he penned a thoughtful note praising Aryan’s first project. “Had an amazing time at the premiere of Netflix’s Aryan Khan directorial debut, the Ba**ds of Bollywood*. The scripting, casting, mounting and production values
were top-notch,” he wrote.
Highlighting the show’s satirical tone, Dr Nene added, “The funniest part was no stone was left unturned in the irreverence, poking humour and observations at all aspects of the Bollywood equation.”

‘Nepotism Equation Comes Full Circle’
Dr Nene also reflected on Aryan’s journey in the industry and the pressures of his surname. “Some will say that the nepotism equation comes full circle. But Aryan actually learned the hard way, studying his craft at USC in one of the world’s finest film schools. The feat is coming out of the shadows of his father, Shah Rukh Khan, which I think Aryan is doing admirably with this debut. Can’t wait to see the rest of the series. Let me know what you think,” he added.
His remarks come as the series garners widespread attention not just for Aryan’s behind-the-camera work but also for its bold take on Bollywood dynamics.
The Ba**ds of Bollywood* features Lakshya and Sahher Bambba in lead roles, supported by Bobby Deol, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Gautami Kapoor, Rajat Bedi, and Manish Chaudhari. The show also boasts high-profile cameos by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Karan Johar, adding to its buzz.
With Aryan stepping confidently into his filmmaking career, industry veterans like Dr Shriram Nene praising his work signal a strong start for the star kid’s directorial journey.
