Sophie Devine once again successfully defended 9 runs in the final over of the match to help Gujarat Giants secure a narrow win by three runs over Delhi Capitals. In match No. 17 of WPL 2026, played at BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday (January 27), Devine picked up four wickets for 37 runs in four overs for the Ashleigh Gardner-led side. Of her four wickets, two came in the 20th over of Delhi’s innings.
The win over Delhi Capitals has helped Gujarat Giants pip Mumbai Indians and take No. 2 position in the WPL 2026 points table. They have almost confirmed their place in the top three.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals have inched closer to elimination now. They have six points to their credit from seven matches played so far.
