'Want To Know What Happened': Class 6 Girl's Mother Seeks Truth Behind Death In Noida School

Days after a Class 6 student died at a school in Noida’s Sector 31, her mother, in a social media video, has demanded that the truth behind her daughter’s death be known.

In the video, Tripta Sharma, mother of 10-year-old Tanishka Sharma, who died at Presidium School on September 4, could be heard saying that she had dropped her daughter to the school on the fateful day, and that she received a call from the school authorities at nearly 11.30 am, informing her that Tanishka was being rushed to a hospital after she had fainted.

As Tripta reached the hospital, she was told her daughter was brought dead, she said in the video.

“This statement shattered my whole world. I only want to know what happened with her during her final moments,” she said.

According to The Times of India, Tanishka collapsed outside the washroom in the school after the lunch break.

The report stated that she was “hale and hearty” before leaving home and was supposed to take part in the Teachers’ Day programmes that day. School authorities rushed her to Kailash Hospital, about 2 km away, but she was declared dead on arrival.

Quoting a police officer, the report stated, “Investigation so far has found that she was taken to Kailash Hospital, where she was declared brought dead. The autopsy was conducted and videographed by a medical panel.”

“No external injuries were found, and the cause of death remains uncertain. The viscera has been preserved for forensic analysis. No foul play has emerged so far, but further action will follow once the viscera report is received,” as per the police statement.

Meanwhile, the family accused the school of negligence, stating that staff gave contradictory accounts of the incident and delayed taking Tanishka to the hospital.

Initially, they were told the child had fainted while eating, but later were told she collapsed while coming down the stairs, the report claimed.

Vaibhav Sharma, a relative of the girl, was quoted as saying, “These conflicting accounts raise doubts and suggest an attempt to cover up negligence. Instead of rushing her to the hospital, Tanishka was initially treated in the school’s medical room.”

“This delay raises serious concerns about the handling of the emergency and may have cost her life,” he said.

The parents also submitted a police complaint demanding a detailed investigation into the school’s emergency response, staff statements, medical records, and CCTV footage.

Commenting on the incident, school principal Manavta Sharda said, “The student fell ill and we took her to the Kailash Hospital immediately.”

“Doctors declared her dead after the initial treatment. DVR was taken by the police when her parents approached us. We are cooperating, and statements have been taken,” she said.

NOIDA SCHOOLGIRL’S POSTMORTEM

A postmortem report of the girl revealed severe internal bleeding (haemorrhage) in the brain, particularly at the base and the ventricles, which can result from a deep injury or blow to the head.

The report also indicated blood accumulation in the lungs, which could have caused breathing difficulties or suffocation.

The hyoid bone was intact, indicating no evidence of strangulation, the report claimed.
