Karachi, Apr 29 (PTI) Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has begun relocating its offices to the Cotton Exchange building after forcing the Karachi Cotton Exchange to vacate the historic structure in December, sources said on Wednesday.
The FIA is set to turn the historic building into its city headquarters, with sources confirming that the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle has already relocated its office to the building.
The building in the financial area of I. I. Chundrigar Road housed the Karachi Cotton Exchange since 1932, but the FIA and the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), acting on the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, in December 2025, took possession of the building, declaring it a federal trust property.
The matter regarding
ownership of the building is currently pending adjudication before the Sindh High Court.
Sources in the FIA said that the ETPB had agreed to rent out the building that houses 200 to 300 chambers/offices to the federal agency.
“The relocation of various departments of the FIA has already begun,” a source said.
