When the OG fashionista of Bollywood reveals the name of her second child, you know it won’t just be a caption but a curated visual masterpiece. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja recently took to Instagram to introduce Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja to the world, and true to form, the ceremony was a class in coordinated family dressing.
The Kapoor-Ahuja clan opted for a cohesive, ethereal look, with the entire family—Sonam, Anand, big brother Vayu, and little Rudra—clad in custom Anamika Khanna.
For Rudralokh’s Namkaran, Sonam leaned into a beautiful mint green and pastel palette. Her ensemble featured a voluminous, floor-sweeping lehenga paired with a structured tunic-style top and dupatta. The outfit was adorned with Anamika’s signature intricate floral embroidery,
featuring delicate threadwork in lavender, blue, and ochre.
Styled by her sister Rhea Kapoor along with Manisha Melwani and Abhilasha Devnani, the look was kept classic with a slicked-back bun (adorned with blue hydrangeas to match the embroidery), soft dewy makeup by Divya Shetty, and traditional pearl-drop jewellery.
The “Anand x Anamika” Collaboration
Perhaps the most sentimental detail of the feature was the collaboration behind the men’s looks. Sonam gave a special shoutout to her husband, Anand Ahuja, who worked closely with Anamika Khanna to conceptualise the family’s coordinated outfits. Anand and the kids mirrored Sonam’s aesthetic in ivory and sage tones, creating a picture-perfect tableau.
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja, on March 29, 2026. The couple announced his name in May 2026, describing the birth as a “divine pairing” with their first son, Vayu. Sonam also explained the meaning of her son’s name.
“In the Vedas, Rudra (rudr), from the root rud, ‘to roar,’ is the mightiest of the mighty. The one who eradicates suffering at its source, the divine force behind storms, breath, healing, and renewal. He is deeply connected to Vayu, the prana that moves through all beings. Our firstborn carries the name of Vishnu, the sustainer of life. With Rudra, a sacred continuity emerges. Breath and power. Preservation and transformation. One strengthening the other. Like his name, may Rudra grow to be fearless, compassionate, deeply aware, and a force of strength and light. With gratitude for your love and blessings, Sonam, Anand, Vayu, and Rudra,” she added.
