Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has joined hands with Meta as the new English voice of Meta AI, expanding her global footprint beyond cinema. The actress announced the news through a post on her official
Instagram handle, sharing her excitement about lending her voice to the next generation of AI technology.
She wrote, “Okay, so this is pretty cool I think! I’m now part of Meta AI and you can chat with my voice in English across India, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Try it and let me know what you think!” The announcement was accompanied by a cheerful “Chat soon!” — a nod to her new digital avatar that fans can now interact with directly.
Deepika’s collaboration with Meta AI spans six major English-speaking regions: India, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. This makes her one of the few global personalities to have her voice integrated into Meta’s conversational AI platform.
The move not only highlights Deepika’s growing international influence but also signifies a major step in Meta’s efforts to personalize user interactions through familiar voices. Her involvement adds a human touch to the AI experience — one that resonates with her millions of admirers worldwide.
Deepika’s Continued Focus On Mental Health
Just days before this announcement, Deepika achieved another milestone — she became the Government of India’s first-ever Mental Health Ambassador on October 12. Known for her openness about battling depression, the actress has consistently used her platform to raise awareness around mental well-being.
Speaking about this honour, Deepika said, “My own journey taught me that it is not a sign of weakness to seek help, but a sign of strength.” Experts like Neha Cadabam, Executive Director at Cadabams Hospitals, applauded the initiative, emphasising how understanding the difference between sadness and depression remains key to addressing stigma in India.
