'My Son Is A Big Fan': Trump Hails Ronaldo At White House Dinner

Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo made an unexpected appearance at a White House dinner on Tuesday, joining a distinguished group of guests that included Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The high-profile event brought together global figures from politics, business, and sports.

While addressing attendees during the dinner, President Donald Trump made a special note of Ronaldo’s presence, describing the room as filled with “the biggest leaders in the world… business, sports.”

Trump went on to share a personal moment involving his youngest son, Barron Trump, who had the opportunity to meet the football legend.

“You know my son is a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo… And Barron got to meet him and I think he respects his father a little bit more now,” Trump said, drawing laughter from the audience.

Expressing appreciation for the star athlete, Trump added, “Just the fact that I introduced you, so I want to thank both of you for being here. Thank you very much.”

Ronaldo plays for Saudi club Al Nassr. Having scored over 950 goals for club and country, he is contracted to play for the Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr until 2027, which is majority owned by the kingdom’s Public Investment Fund.

Tech titans Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos were also seen at Trump’s black-tie dinner at the White House held in honor of the Saudi Crown Prince. Musk was spotted seated among guests in the East Room, while Bezos arrived shortly after cameras began rolling.

Several administration figures attended the lavish gathering, including Vice President JD Vance, Second Lady Usha Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. Speaker Mike Johnson was also in attendance along with First Lady Melania Trump.
