Nayab Midha Announces Rajkumari North America Tour
The Rajkumari North America Tour will
travel across Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix, Vancouver, the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Raleigh, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Detroit, Toronto and New York. The 15-city run marks a major milestone not only for Nayab but also for Indian spoken-word poetry on the global stage.
The tour also signals a shift in how spoken-word performances are being presented to audiences. Traditionally associated with intimate venues, poetry and storytelling are now being taken to larger stages through productions like Rajkumari.
Framed as an immersive audio film, the 2.5-hour production blends poetry, storytelling, music, humour and theatrical elements. The show explores themes of identity, relationships, resilience, self-discovery and hope.
At its heart, Rajkumari aims to create modern narratives for a changing world. While generations have grown up with timeless stories, myths and inherited wisdom, the production looks at the questions and emotions that define contemporary life. Through poetry, music and storytelling, it builds new-age stories that today’s audiences can see themselves in.
Nayab Midha On Taking Rajkumari To North America
Speaking about the tour, Nayab Midha said, “At its heart, Rajkumari is a celebration of the human experience, of love, loss, courage, laughter and everything in between. Through every story, poem and song, my hope has always been to create a space where people feel seen, understood and a little less alone. As Rajkumari travels across North America, I hope audiences leave with the message that has guided so much of my work: Mad Heart, Be Brave. Because sometimes courage is simply choosing to keep your heart open.”
Parul Mundra, Founder of Tarashna, said the response to Rajkumari over the years has been special to witness. She said, “The response to Rajkumari over the years has been incredibly special to witness, with audiences consistently walking away feeling inspired and deeply connected. The North American tour marks an important milestone in Nayab’s journey and reflects the remarkable momentum we have seen throughout 2026. With international shows, larger audiences and some of the biggest opportunities of her career coming together, this is proving to be a defining year, and we are proud to introduce Rajkumari to new audiences across North America.”
Rajkumari Aims To Take Spoken Word To Bigger Stages
Imthiaz Sherriff, Founder and CEO of Oho Productions Inc., said the tour aims to change how spoken-word poetry is viewed as a live format. He said, “Spoken-word poetry has long been viewed as a niche art form experienced primarily in small, intimate settings. With the Rajkumari North America Tour, we aim to change that narrative. We are bringing spoken word to iconic, large-scale venues and broader audiences, mirroring the meteoric rise of stand-up comedy from an underground movement into a mainstream global industry.”
The North American leg of Rajkumari is expected to draw thousands of attendees across the United States and Canada. The tour further strengthens Nayab Midha’s position as one of the most influential contemporary voices in Indian spoken word and live storytelling.
