Dhurandhar Box Office Collection: Even as Dhurandhar continues to break records worldwide, one key market remained out of reach. The Ranveer Singh-led spy thriller was not released in several Middle Eastern countries — a decision that significantly impacted its overseas earnings. Despite this setback, the film has crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark globally and is inching closer to Rs 1,100 crore. But according to the film’s overseas distributor, the numbers could have been much higher. ‘At Least A $10 Million Loss Due To Release Ban In Middle East’ In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18, overseas distributor Pranab Kapadia revealed how the Middle East ban affected the film’s international business. “I think this is at least a ten million dollar
box office that we have lost, because traditionally action films have always performed very well in the Middle East. And therefore we feel that it should have gotten a a release. But, at the same time we have to respect the views and the rules and regulations of every territory and every country, and they have their reasons. We are not the first film where they have not given a release. Fighter also was not released before this, and several others. So we of course made a full attempt at ensuring that we put our best foot forward for the release. But I think ultimately, the film has found its audience, if not in the Gulf, then elsewhere.” Holiday Travel Worked In The Film’s Favour Kapadia also explained how the December holiday season helped the film reach audiences who otherwise would have watched it in the Gulf. “I know some of them, who have travelled overseas. Especially in the month of December, they are on holiday. So they have come from the Gulf to European countries or American soil, and they have actually enjoyed the film. Because fortunately, the film has released at a time when, you know, almost the second half of December is a holiday period. So people are travelling abroad, and they are ensuring that one evening in their schedule is free to watch Dhurandhar.” About Dhurandhar
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a two-part spy action film set against the underworld of Karachi’s Lyari area. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead, supported by Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun. Despite missing out on the Middle East, the film has performed strongly across India, Europe and North America. The second part of Dhurandhar is scheduled for an Eid 2026 release. Given the scale of success of the first film, expectations are already high for the sequel — with hopes of an even wider global release next time.
