And I love the way he has maintained his friendship with his two wives (Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao) even after the marriage. It says a lot about him.”

Mammootty has paid an emotional tribute to Salim Kumar following the National Award-winning actor’s death at the age of 56, describing the loss as an “unending sorrow”. The Malayalam cinema icon shared a photograph of Salim Kumar on X and remembered the actor not just for the laughter he brought to audiences, but also for the impact he had on those around him. In a heartfelt note written in Malayalam, Mammootty wrote, “Salim, who laughed and made others laugh, thought and made others think, and occasionally cried and made others cry, now, all you do is make me cry. Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming film Governor has been making headlines ever since the trailer of the film was released, offering a glimpse into India’s turbulent 1990-91 economic crisis. While there have been conversations around the movie’s political presentation, director Chinmay Mandlekar has clarified that Governor is not intended to be a political drama. While speaking to Times Now, Mandlekar shared how the movie will focus on individuals who were never talked about. The director said, “Of course, you can see certain figures from Indian politics, like Mr Chandrashekhar, who was our Prime Minister at that time, and Mr Yashwant Sinha, who was our Finance Minister. Characters representing them are seen in the trailer as well. But the film is not about politicians.”

Yeah, he’s given two big hits with them. So, if there was any reason that he is not comfortable doing this film, it could be for various reasons. And kudos to him that he offered compensation for losses incurred and paid back the signing amount. Many don’t even do that.”
