The five-match T20I series between India and South Africa is finely poised at 1-1 after two contrasting encounters. India made a dominant start to the series with a commanding win in the opening match at Cuttack.
Hardik Pandya starred with an all-round performance, smashing an unbeaten 59 off 28 balls to guide India to 175/6. In response, South Africa suffered a dramatic collapse and was bowled out for just 74, their lowest total in T20I cricket. India sealed a massive 101-run victory, with every Indian bowler chipping in with wickets.
South Africa hit back strongly in the second T20I at Mullanpur. Quinton de Kock led the charge with a sensational 90 off 46 balls, powering the visitors to an imposing 213/4. India’s chase never really took off after losing key wickets early. Tilak Varma’s fighting 62 offered some resistance, but Ottniel Baartman’s impressive spell of 4/24 helped South Africa bowl India out for 162, securing a 51-run win and levelling the series.
With the series now tied, attention turns to the much-anticipated third T20I at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala, where both teams will be eager to gain the upper hand and take the lead.
