For one software engineer, going to work each day is nothing short of an endurance test. His daily routine of travelling from Badlapur to Pune for his office has now left many on social media questioning
whether such long hours on the road are worth it.
The man documented his entire journey from leaving home early in the morning to finally reaching his office after train changes and auto rides. What surprised many viewers was the fact that he spends almost six hours every day only travelling to and from work.
A 3-Hour Journey Each Way
The video, shared on Instagram, shows the engineer starting his day at 6:50 AM as he leaves his home in Badlapur. He first takes an auto-rickshaw to reach the railway station by 7 AM and catches a local train that takes him to Karjat. He reaches Karjat by 7:50 AM, from where he boards the Intercity Express at 8:20 AM to reach Pune.
At around 9 AM, he has his breakfast of bread and omelette inside the train before reaching the Pune Railway Station at 10:10 AM. From there, he takes another auto to Kharadi. He finally reaches his office at 11 AM, where his shift runs from 11:15 AM to 8 PM. Counting both ways, his total commute time adds up to nearly six hours daily.

‘No Meaning Of This Life’: Internet Reacts
Since being shared online, the video has received over four million views so far. Many social media users reacted strongly to the idea of travelling such long hours every day.
One user commented, “Wasting 6 hours a day. No meaning of this life. No family time — paiso ka kya karoge? (What will you do with the money?) Max distance between home and office should be 45 minutes.”
Another said, “11-8 job?? That’s it? 1 hour lunch break, 10 min washroom break, 20 min coffee tea break. How many hours are you utilising by travelling for more than 3 hours? You should look for better travelling options. As an employer point of view: this is not what you signed for.”
“Bhai bol do tumko 1 crore ka package hai warna kyu hi koi ye sab kare (Brother, say you have a Rs 1 crore package, otherwise who would do all this),” a person jokingly wrote while a viewer added, “That’s a crazy struggle, I hope your salary is above 20 LPA.”
“Isse accha mai berozgaar rahu (I’d rather stay unemployed than do this),” someone else remarked.
“When are you living your life? Such things are not motivational; it’s depression,” read another comment.
Meanwhile, many others advised him to look for accommodation within a 1–2 km range of his office, as it could save both time and energy by eliminating the need for such a long daily commute.
