New Delhi, Jun 6 (PTI) A strong reading culture nurtures informed minds, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said while inaugurating a Coforge Public Library in Vasant Kunj in south Delhi.
The library is the Coforge company’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and this is the fourth such facility in India after Noida, Gurugram and Hyderabad.
“This magnificent space is far more than just a building; it is a gateway to knowledge, equality, and opportunity. It represents a profound understanding that true progress lies in empowering minds. We highly commend Coforge for recognising the transformative power of books,” the chief minister said at the event.
“I offer my warmest congratulations and best wishes to the entire Coforge family.
May this grand initiative inspire many more such sanctuaries of knowledge across Delhi and the rest of India, opening new doors of growth for every citizen,” she added.
Anuradha Sehgal, Chief Brand and Sustainability Officer of Coforge, said, “All Coforge Public Library locations are selected with a clear social objective, to serve dense population clusters, including underserved communities where access to quality reading infrastructure is limited.” The library in Vasant Kunj will be a shared space for the entire community in and around Vasant Kunj, Sehgal added.
Entry and reading are completely free, and visitors may also borrow books by paying a fully refundable deposit. No deposit is taken from students of government schools.
Located on the first floor of Vasant Square Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, the library has a seating capacity of 170 people. PTI SSM APL APL
