Congress President and All India Congress Committee (AICC) chief Mallikarjun Kharge was admitted to MS Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday night after developing a fever and experiencing mild breathing difficulties. Party sources said the 82-year-old leader was taken to hospital on doctors’ advice, where he immediately underwent a series of medical examinations.
Health condition under observation
Doctors at the hospital have confirmed that Kharge’s condition remains stable. A team of specialists is closely monitoring his health and carrying out further tests to determine the cause of the fever. The hospital administration is expected to release a detailed medical bulletin soon. Party leaders stressed that there was no immediate cause for
alarm, but Kharge will remain under observation until his condition stabilises fully.
At 82, Kharge is one of the most experienced figures in Indian politics. As AICC President since October 2022, he has steered the Congress through multiple electoral challenges and continues to play a central role in shaping its national strategy. Known for his tireless schedule, Kharge has recently been engaged in back-to-back political programmes and meetings.
For now, doctors insist that Kharge’s condition is stable and under close observation.
