Unidentified intruders allegedly broke into a hotel in Gurugram’s Sector 42, where four to five members of Air India’s cabin crew were staying during a training programme, Times Of India reported. The crew members were reportedly threatened and robbed. An Air India spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying the airline acted immediately after being informed.
“We are deeply concerned by an unfortunate incident of intrusion and theft at a Gurugram hotel where some of our crew colleagues were staying during a training programme,” the spokesperson said as per TOI.
“Crew safety is a top priority at Air India, and as an immediate precaution, the affected colleagues have been relocated to another hotel, while our teams remain available to them to provide
any required support,” the airline added.
The airline said it was working closely with local law enforcement to ensure the culprits are brought to justice.
“Air India is cooperating closely with local law enforcement authorities and will ensure the matter is pursued with due legal recourse,” the spokesperson said.
Air India also emphasised that its crew travel and accommodation policies are guided by strict safety protocols.
“Crew travel and accommodation arrangements at Air India are guided by robust policies to ensure the highest standards of safety and comfort, and these are reviewed regularly based on feedback from our colleagues. We remain firmly committed to safeguarding the security and welfare of all employees on duty,” the statement said.
