Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor stepped out with daughter Raha and Neetu Kapoor on Friday, September 18, as the family performed Ganpati Visarjan outside their Mumbai residence. The intimate family moment soon drew attention online, particularly after Alia was seen carefully keeping Raha away from the paparazzi cameras gathered nearby.
Videos from the visarjan have surfaced on social media, showing Ranbir carrying the Ganpati idol while Alia holds Raha close. As photographers tried to capture the family, the actress appeared mindful of her daughter’s privacy and repeatedly kept her face turned away from the cameras.

The Kapoor family marked the fifth day of Ganeshotsav with the traditional farewell
to Lord Ganesha. Dressed in festive Indian wear, Ranbir, Alia and Neetu were seen taking part in the puja before the immersion rituals.
Ranbir carried the idol as the family gathered outside their residence. The group later joined in chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” before bidding farewell to Bappa.
The visarjan appeared to be a relatively private affair, though the presence of photographers outside the residence meant the family was surrounded by cameras during the rituals.
Alia, meanwhile, remained focused on Raha throughout. With the three-year-old in her arms, she made a visible effort to ensure that her daughter was not photographed clearly.

Alia and Ranbir have taken a cautious approach when it comes to Raha’s public visibility.
The couple first introduced their daughter to photographers during Christmas celebrations in December 2023. At the time, Raha’s appearance instantly became a major talking point online, with pictures from the family outing widely circulated.
Since then, however, Alia and Ranbir have become far more selective about when and how Raha is photographed. Alia had earlier removed pictures from her Instagram account in which her daughter’s face could be seen clearly.
Neetu Kapoor, too, has been vocal about the family’s preference for privacy. In a recent interaction with paparazzi, the veteran actress was seen requesting photographers not to click Raha’s pictures.
The latest Ganpati Visarjan appearance continues that approach, with Alia physically shielding her daughter as cameras surrounded the family.
Alia And Ranbir’s Family Life
Raha was born in November 2022, several months after Alia and Ranbir tied the knot at their Mumbai home in April that year.
The actors had been in a relationship for several years before getting married in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family members.
Since becoming parents, both Ranbir and Alia have occasionally spoken about how parenthood has changed their personal lives, while largely choosing to keep Raha away from constant public exposure.

On the professional front, Alia and Ranbir are set to share the screen again in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal.
The project brings Ranbir back together with Bhansali nearly two decades after the actor made his debut with Saawariya in 2007.
For Alia, the film marks another collaboration with the filmmaker after Gangubai Kathiawadi. Vicky, meanwhile, will work with Bhansali for the first time.
Love & War was officially announced in January 2024 and remains one of the most closely watched upcoming Hindi film projects.
