A video from Pallikkara in Kerala making rounds online shows how young men came to the rescue of a little girl who was choking. Reportedly, the girl had accidentally swallowed a chewing gum and quickly realised she needed help. She went near a group of men, who, without hesitation, helped her. One of the men even picked her up and performed abdominal thrusts, an emergency technique used to clear a blocked airway when someone is choking.
In the video, the little girl was riding her bicycle alone when she ate some chewing gum. Shortly after starting to pedal, she began feeling unwell and approached the group for help. At first, one of the men tried to pat her back, but another quickly realised the seriousness of the situation. He immediately picked
her up and performed abdominal thrusts to clear her airway. Thanks to their quick actions, the girl was rescued in time and prevented what could have turned into a tragic incident.

An individual stated, “Good that the girl asked for help – first good thing. And glad to know that brave men helped her. Love this humanity.”
Another mentioned, “That’s why education is important.”
One more added, “The guy knew what to do. You can only provide help if you know how to do it.”
