Gujarat Giants (GG) entered the WPL 2027 auction with Rs. 1.25 crore and three slots to fill, including one overseas spot, looking to make minor additions to their squad.
Their first signing was wicketkeeper-batter G Kamalini for Rs. 40 lakh. Released by Mumbai Indians, she has scored 107 runs in 14 WPL matches at a strike rate of 104.90, with her 2026 campaign cut short by injury. Kamalini made her T20I debut against Sri Lanka in late 2025.
GG then signed Irish all-rounder Orla Prendergast for Rs. 30 lakh. The international has scored 2,054 runs and taken 69 wickets in 88 WT20Is, besides featuring in The Hundred, WBBL and WCPL.
They completed their signings with Samaira Raghav for her base price of Rs. 10 lakh, leaving Rs. 45 lakh in the purse.

Gujarat Giants Likely Playing 11
GT’s releases and selections seemed to be based on the idea that their squad was not too far away from where they needed it to be. They reached the Eliminator last year, with some good performances throughout, and the additions to the team look more like squad players than first-11 players.
Predergast can compete with leg-spinner Georgia Wareham and Kamalini can perhaps be tried for a Niki Prasad-esque finishing role in a couple of games, while being the backup opener.
