Bengaluru, Aug 29 (PTI) Bengaluru will host the first-of-its-kind JanAI Vishwa Utsav, a seven-day community-powered festival on Artificial Intelligence from March 1, 2027.
The utsav will bring rural communities and youth together with governments, technology companies, startups, investors, academia and global AI leaders.
The festival will have more than one lakh participants, including over 5,000 delegates, and will seek to bring rural India directly into the global AI conversation, a release said.
“JanAI Vishwa Utsav is our attempt to change the conversation around AI, from AI being something that happens to people, to something that people actively shape,” JanAI founder and convener of JanAI Vishwa Utsav 2027 Madan Padaki said.
The event would
focus on enabling rural communities to identify problems in their farms, businesses, classrooms and communities and work with the AI ecosystem to develop solutions. Its theme is “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka AI – AI with all, AI by all, AI in service of all,” the release said.
Community Week will be held from March 1 to 3 across more than 50 events at over 25 venues in Bengaluru, followed by the JanAI World Festival from March 4 to 6 for citizens, government, industry and international delegations. Bengaluru Experience and Networking Events will be held on March 7.
JanAI was also building a network of 10,000 Rural JanAI Ambassadors across 100 districts and 16 states. A national roadshow covering more than 50 rural districts will begin from Wardha on October 2, 2026, it said.
The initiative has collected 6,206 responses from 28 states and 221 districts through its ‘J.AI Hind: My Wish for a Better Future’ campaign, with jobs and economic opportunities emerging as the top expectation, followed by education, farming and healthcare. Of the responses, 63 per cent came from villages and 15 per cent from small towns.
The festival will showcase practical applications of AI in agriculture, healthcare, education and skilling, financial inclusion, MSMEs, tourism and culture, and governance, while giving rural youth an opportunity to present solutions in their own languages and communities.
JanAI’s grassroots JanAI Cafe initiative was creating community hubs for people to learn and apply AI, while its Mass Entrepreneurship Challenge aims to engage one lakh MSMEs and develop people-focused AI solutions to business challenges.
The festival is being curated by MMActiv and will bring together government, corporate, foundation and academic partners, the release said. PTI GMS KH
