Thane Traffic Advisory: Ahead of the Maharashtra Local Body Elections, the Ambernath Traffic Sub-Division has introduced special traffic measures to manage crowding and ensure smooth movement on polling
day.
According to a traffic advisory issued by Thane Police, the arrangements have been put in place due to the increased movement expected in and around the Kulgaon–Badlapur area.
“With the Kulgaon–Badlapur Municipal Council Election scheduled for December 2, 2025, the Ambernath Traffic Sub-Division has announced special traffic arrangements to prevent congestion in the city,” the notification said.
Officials noted that the stretch from Karjat Vagni to Kalyan and the road from Aamdar Misal to the old municipal council building, will be particularly busy. Adarsh Vidhyalaya has been selected as a polling centre for the municipal council constituency, which is likely to draw a steady flow of voters and vehicles.
Check Diversions Issued:
• Heavy vehicles from Karjat to Badlapur
These vehicles will not be allowed beyond Hope India (Hiraji Gomanji Patil Entrance).
Alternate route: Drivers may turn left at Hope India and continue via the water tank, DG1 and Ghorpade Chowk.
• Entry from Karjat via Gandhi Chowk Road
All vehicles heading towards Badlapur city through this route will be stopped at Aamdar Misal.
Alternate route: Vehicles from Aamdar Misal can proceed to the MHADA Colony and reach their destination via DG1.
• Vehicles from Ambernath and Badlapur West towards Adarsh School
Traffic coming from the Kulgaon–Badlapur Municipal Council area will be halted in front of the old Kulgaon–Badlapur Municipal Council building.

The police have urged commuters to plan their travel in advance and follow the temporary diversions to avoid delays.
