Bengaluru Water Supply Disruption: Thousands of residents and commercial establishments along Bengaluru’s busy Mysuru Road corridor may face acute water shortages on Saturday as the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) executes emergency pipeline repairs.
The supply suspension was triggered after a massive leak was detected in a high-pressure transmission line that feeds millions of litres of drinking water daily into the city’s southwestern grid via Southend Circle.
The Breakdown: What Caused The Shutdown?
According to BWSSB officials, a critical pipeline carrying treated water suffered severe structural damage, causing drinking water to gush out onto the streets.
To prevent further mass wastage of precious Cauvery water, the water board issued an emergency shutdown order
to isolate the ruptured section.

BWSSB officials are likely to begin the work at 9 am on Saturday. While officials aim to wrap up physical repairs swiftly, residents should expect delayed water pressure even after supply resumes, as the extensive pipeline network requires several hours to fully recharge.
