From Dentist To IAS: How Yashvi Jain Cracked NEET And UPSC, Know Her Success Story

Originally from Delhi, Yashvi Jain comes from a family where both her parents work in the corporate sector. Like many science students after Class 12, she began preparing for NEET with the dream of entering the medical field. Her hard work paid off when she secured admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme. Choosing dentistry as her profession, she dedicated herself to helping people overcome dental problems and built a career as a practising dentist.

Yashvi credits her parents, Rajiv Jain and Neetu Jain, for encouraging her to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. She was also deeply inspired by her maternal uncle, an officer in the Indian Information Service (IIS), who was the only member of the family serving in a government

role. His guidance and motivation planted the idea that she, too, could serve the nation through the civil services.

Balancing two demanding responsibilities was never easy. During the day, Yashvi worked as a dentist, treating patients with dedication and care. At night, she immersed herself in books, notes, and mock tests, steadily preparing for the UPSC exam. She officially began her preparation in 2023, determined to pursue her goal despite the challenges.

Her first attempt did not bring success. For many aspirants, failure can become a reason to stop, but Yashvi refused to give up. Instead, she treated the setback as a lesson, strengthened her preparation, and returned with greater focus and confidence. Her perseverance finally paid off in 2025, when she secured an impressive All India Rank 97 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Even Yashvi admits that she never imagined achieving such a high rank. Yet her story proves that consistent effort and self-belief can lead to extraordinary results.

Sharing advice for UPSC aspirants, Yashvi emphasises the importance of consistency over long study hours. According to her, studying 14–15 hours a day is not necessary. A student of NEXT IAS, she says what truly matters is having complete clarity about whatever you study. Preparation should become so strong that during the examination, answers come almost instinctively.

Her message to aspirants is simple yet powerful: if you do not succeed in your first attempt, do not lose hope. Keep trying, stay dedicated, and continue preparing with sincerity. Success, she believes, comes through sustained effort, patience, and unwavering commitment.
