Sant Kabir Nagar (UP), Sep 16 (PTI) A 25-year-old man was allegedly killed with a sharp-edged weapon following a dispute in a village under the Belhar police station area, police said on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Raju Kannaujiya, a labourer who worked in Mumbai and had recently returned home, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Meena said.
According to the SP, Kannaujiya had a dispute with his brother Mahendra over a money transaction. Later, village resident Ramdas Gupta intervened and got into an argument with Raju.
Gupta allegedly attacked Kannaujiya with a sharp-edged weapon, seriously injuring him, the SP said.
Kannaujiya was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead, he said.
The SP said Kannaujiya and Gupta had
been involved in a dispute for a long time and the incident took place on Tuesday evening.
The body was sent for post-mortem examination and a case has been registered. Efforts were underway to arrest Gupta, the SP said. PTI COR CDN MDO MDO
