Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor has finally shared the first pictures from her intimate wedding ceremony with filmmaker Sharan Sharma, and the photos are all heart. The actor took to Instagram to post a carousel from the couple’s wedding proceedings, offering fans a glimpse into a celebration that looked deeply personal, warm and refreshingly fuss-free.

In the pictures, Akanksha is seen dressed in a striking red saree with ornate gold detailing, paired with heavy bridal jewellery, chooda, kaleeras and mehendi. Sharan, on the other hand, kept it classic in an elegant white kurta-pyjama set with an embroidered jacket. The two are seen laughing, holding hands, signing documents and sharing emotional moments with their loved ones around them.

Sharing the post, Akanksha wrote, “tu na toh ghar ghar nahi lagta tu hain toh darr nahi lagta ♾️.”

A Wedding That Chose Simplicity Over Spectacle

Unlike many big Bollywood weddings that stretch across several days of rituals and grandeur, Akanksha and Sharan chose a more intimate route. A source close to the couple had earlier exclusively told News18 Showsha that the two would not be having traditional pheras or elaborate religious ceremonies.

“Akansha and Sharam won’t be having traditional pheras or any elaborate religious ceremonies. Instead, they’ve chosen to keep things simple by opting for a registered marriage. The legal formalities will take place at the Ranjan residence in Mumbai,” the source had shared.

The pictures now echo exactly that sentiment. The ceremony appears to have taken place against a soft floral backdrop with close family and friends in attendance. One of the frames shows Akanksha signing the marriage documents, while another captures the couple sharing an easy laugh, making the ceremony feel less like a staged celebrity event and more like a private promise made in front of the people who matter most.

Celebration With Loved Ones

The source had further told News18 Showsha, “The couple will sign the marriage documents in the presence of their near and dear ones. The emphasis is on celebrating the union with loved ones rather than following conventional wedding customs, making it a deeply personal and low-key occasion.”

After the intimate wedding, Akanksha and Sharan are also expected to host a grand reception in Mumbai on July 12. Details about the reception remain under wraps for now.

Akanksha and Sharan have reportedly been dating since 2022, though they largely kept their relationship away from public glare. On the work front, Akanksha was last seen in Gram Chikitsalay season two and the Netflix film Ikka. Sharan last directed Mr & Mrs Mahi, starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor.
