Prince Yadav is part of the Lucknow Super Giants’ IPL 2026 squad, and the 24-year-old fast bowler from Delhi has impressed with his performances in this year’s IPL. In nine matches played so far for the Lucknow-based franchise, he has picked up 13 wickets, and he also tops the list of bowlers with the most wickets for them in IPL 2026. Prince’s super show with the ball in this year’s IPL has raised calls for his selection in the Indian squad in the coming future. Amid the talks of his India selection, the young fast bowler has expressed his desire to play for India in the 2027 ODI World Cup.

In a recent video shared by LSG on X, Prince has stated that he wants to be part of India’s ODI World
Cup 2027 squad and win that tournament for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
According to him, Virat and Rohit have almost everything together barring the ODI World Cup, and he wants to play with them in the upcoming 50-over mega-event and win it.
“Mera abhi toh vo hai ki mai Virat aur Rohit Bhaiya ke saath 2027 wala World Cup khel saku, aur vo hum jeete. Unke paas lagbhag saari trophies hai. Sirf ek 50-over World Cup abhi thoda sa (saath mein) nahi hai, toh mai chahunga ki India 2027 ka World Cup jeete aur mai part rahu uss team ka. Aur woh hum jeete toh unke liye bahut achi cheej hogi” (Right now, my goal is to be able to play in the 2027 World Cup alongside Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and for us to win it. They already have almost all the trophies. The only thing they are slightly missing (together) is a 50-over World Cup. So I would want India to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027, and I hope to be part of that team. If we win it, it would be a very special thing for them),” Prince said in a video shared by LSG on X.

Prince, who made his IPL debut for LSG last year (in 2025), has 16 wickets to his name in 15 IPL matches played so far. Apart from his wicket-taking abilities, he has impressed with his line and length, economical bowling in this year’s IPL.
