Daniel Curtis Lee, best known from Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, tried to help his former child star friend Tylor Chase, who has been homeless, by getting him a motel room for safety and a fresh start. But things quickly went wrong. On Christmas Day, Daniel shared a heartbreaking update by revealing that the motel called him just hours after Tylor checked in. The room was destroyed, the door was left open, the fridge was overturned and the microwave ended up in the bathtub.
Daniel admitted he underestimated the challenge, saying Tylor’s family had warned him that putting him in hotels had caused problems before. He acknowledged he was wrong to think this time will be different. Now, Daniel is looking for other ways to support Tylor while
speaking out about the broken systems that make it so hard for people who clearly need help to get it.
Motel Stay Ends in Disaster
Taking to TikTok, Daniel Curtis Lee explained, “We got him into the hotel and just that night, I received a call from the management. They are upset. The door is left open. Why is there a microwave in the tub? The refrigerator is turned over. I just feel so devastated, I’m at a loss. His family told me that they tried the hotel thing before and it didn’t work. Why did you assume that you were gonna be able to fix this situation? I don’t think we should be at this point.”
“3 days ago, when we tried to get him to the hospital, I don’t understand how a system, we have all this social system, where help should be provided for these people facing mental health issues, drug abuse, taxpayers vote on that stuff all the time. A third party should be able to get someone into treatment, give them a psychological evaluation to figure out what’s going on and allow them to detox. I’m just crushed that the system is now working effectively, they’re not quality systems. I’m really feeling devastated here,” the actor added.

After several videos showed Tylor Chase living on the streets, Ryan Railsback, a Public Information Officer for the Riverside Police Department, explained to TMZ that officers know him very well and check on him at least once a week. They have offered him housing and support many times, but he has refused each time. The police said it is up to Tylor to decide if he wants help. They also added that, unlike some people without homes who may react angrily to officers, Tylor is polite and cooperative. He is not wanted for any crimes.
The former Nickelodeon actor recently gained attention after several videos showed him looking weak. Police informed Tylor about the videos and he is not bothered by the attention.
